Friday Summary
Maths
The boys have started work on Data this week. We have had great fun playing games of 'Hit the Button' and finding the average score as well as creating some really neat bar charts. Well done!
English
We finished our novel 'Under the Hawthorn Tree' on Wednesday. This was a fantastic book and we aim to follow Peggy's journey by taking on the second novel 'Wildflower Girl' as part of the trilogy.
Pronouns was the name of the grammar game this week. Whether its personal or possessive, the boys have a good grasp of these now.
We continued our work on report writing and this will continue into the next fortnight.
SESE
The boys have been studying the lives of monks in monasteries scattered across Ireland dating back to the 6th century. We learned about the lifestyle of the monks, their roles within the monasteries and the different buildings within monastery walls.
World Book Day
The boys played their part in supporting the younger brigade of Christ the King. We visited Ms. Keane's Junior and Senior Infants and read some lovely books to the younger boys. Afterwards, we helped the boys to create some colourful drawings based on the books that were read.
Attendance Heroes
Congratulations to our recent winners of our classes 'Attendance Hero' award. Aga, Leo, David L, Kamran and Jamie are a few of many who have been H...ere E...veryday R...eady O...n time.
Swimming
The boys thoroughly enjoyed their second session of swimming on Thursday. Everyone was excellently behaved and respectful to their coaches.
