This is one of the most distinctive and exotically named of moths.Gets its name from the fact that the striking black saddle-like marks on the wing resemble one of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet.Its Latin name is Orthososia gothica.It is 20mm in length and rests with its wings in a tent-like position.It is widespread and common and as I write these words,one is resting on the glass panel of the back door.Always delighted to see them!
