November with us!
2nd Dec 2023
This month once again was jammed pack! Having come back refreshed after our mid term break the boys were ready to do lots of learning and have lots of fun.
- πͺπWe focused on space week for the first week back in November. The boys learned all about the planets and then in pairs researched a planet of their choice using the iPads ! We also did some beautiful art based on each of the planets. ππͺ
- π€ The boys held their first assembly of this year and sang a lovely song “The dot song”, recited a poem as gaeilge “Buail ar an Doras” and performed Hot cross buns on the tin whistle. Maith sibh!π€
- π§ͺπ₯ΌWe then dived into Science Week. During this week we did an experiment a day looking at brittle bones and what we need in our diets to keep our bones healthy. We separated pepper from salt with a balloon and used different magnets to see what’s magnetic on our classroom. We also made an egg float and made 3D shapes out of sticks and marshmallows π§ͺπ₯Ό
- π We were invited to the girls school to take a picture with all the shoe boxes collected for the Team Hope Shoe Box Appeal. Between the two schools over 130 boxes were collected to ensure children in poorer parts of the world have a good Christmas this year! Well done to all π
- π Once again a massive thank you to Sean and Micheal who have taken the boys for hurling and football during the month π
- πΆπΌ Baby Lucia was back for a visit this month and we learned all about babies crying and what it means. The boys are really enjoying Roots of Empathy this year and love baby Lucia’s visits πΆπΌ
- π We’ve started our winter art and did some lovely winter city scenesπ
- π₯πΈ We were so lucky the very talented James Anglim came to our school for a workshop and performance . The boys got to each play a drum set and some other percussion instruments ! I’d say some will be asking Santa for a new drum set this year ! π₯πΈ
- πTJ from the RSA came to our classroom and spoke to the boys all about road safety and how to cross the road safely! Thank you TJ π
- π©π»π«π¨π»π« Lastly a massive thank you to Ms Costelloe and Mr O Céide who taught the boys for the last two weeks . The boys really loved having them in the class and learned loads from them! We wish them the very best of luck as they continue their studies with becoming teachers π©π»π«π¨π»π«
It’s been a very busy month and December will be even busier ! We’re currently rehearsing very hard for our Christmas show and can’t wait for you all to see it π
