October in 3rd & 4th
4th Nov 2024
October was filled with tonnes of fun! We were learning in Maths with hands-on activities relating to 2D shapes. Plenty of work on addition, subtraction and collecting data around the school was also completed. During Maths Week, we were lucky to take part in the Bricks4Kidz initiative which saw the boys building complex motorised objects using lego and following instructions.
We took part in the Credit Union Art Competition and some beautiful pieces were completed by our boys. Autumn hedgehogs were very relaxing to make and the boys found the process very peaceful and calming. We threw standard Halloween colours out the window and created multicoloured spider webs which really brightened up our classroom.
Sports continue to play an integral part in the school week with Micheal Lynch and his football coaching expertise on a Monday as well as Limerick GAA GDA Brendan coming in to coach on Wednesdays.
We recently visited the Fighting Words workshop at Watch House Cross Library. During their narrative writing session, they worked together with experienced and talented writers and illustrators who facilitated the group in composing their own unique class story. We were kindly invited by the staff at the Caherdavin branch of Limerick & District Credit Union to their celebratory day. The boys were treated to hot chocolate and ice creams.
