The whole school community is so proud of all the boys who made up the U13 football panel this year. It was fantastic to be back on the pitch.
Final day started with a game against another team from Gaelscoil Castletroy. With both schools having such interest in football, we were able to give all involved a well deserved game. A just reward for their dedication and hard work at training.
In the U13 final, CTK were put under immense pressure by a skilful Castletroy outfit. This was especially the case in the first half. Despite the boys best efforts, they were left with a mountain to climb in the second half.
The CTK spirit was clearly on show in the second half as our boys clawed back the deficit. This was twenty minutes of football that for those who were present will be hard to forget. Skill and perseverance were showcased in abundance. CTK brought the deficit back to one point but failed in their titanic efforts to level the tie. Our boys were clearly disappointed but all present were immensely proud of their never say die attitude.
We thank the boys and their families for their dedication to the U13 football competition this year. We thank those who allowed us to play our home games at Na Piarsaigh as well as preparing pitches. Everyone’s help was valued greatly.
