The boys of 3rd and 4th Class have settled back to school life very well since returning in late August. There has been lots of fun in Maths with our focus being on place value, addition and subtraction.
In English we were learning about the genre of recount. Plenty of reading, writing and talking about events that happened in the past was done as well as learning about some interesting people such as Vincent Van Gogh, Henry Ford, King Henry VIII and Grace O'Malley.
Having read about Van Gogh, we turned to examining many of his paintings. We learned about how the medication he took made him see the world in tones of yellow. We took out our paintbrushes and created our own Van Gogh inspired pieces.
Plenty of games have been played in PE and Ned's Baking Club is in full swing with thanks to the wonderful Ms. O'Shanahan. Fridays are full of fun and the boys are treated in turns to some cooking / baking in the staffroom.
