Wood Anemone
28th Mar 2022
Curraghchase Forest Park near Kilcornan is beautiful in every season.Journeyed there today late in the afternoon hoping to come across the gorgeous Wood Anemone.I wasn't to be disappointed coming across a share of individual plants and a few decent clusters.
March/April is the time of year to find this woodland plant which also goes by the name of Windflower andThimbleweed. It can have between five and ten petals which are actually sepals. The flowers follow the Sun during the day.One downside-the flowers have no nectar so bees won't be visiting much!
